Library tasks

First: Supply (Development of Library Holdings):

Supplying the library with specialized books and references based on the suggestions of faculty members, preparing book inspection reports and recording them in the library records, and making financial settlements for invoices for purchasing books according to the library budget.

Second: The process of technical preparation of the holdings:

The library is subject to the international Dewey Decimal Classification in classifying and preparing lists of subject headings. It also falls under the Future System Program for Library Management, which aims to create a unified index for Egyptian university libraries by preparing a barcode for the classification number for each book in order to facilitate the process of searching for books. It is one of the ICTP projects affiliated with the Supreme Council of Universities www.eulc.edu.eg.

Third: Borrowing Services:

 The library provides borrowing services to all faculty members, assistant staff, graduate students and undergraduate students within the limits of the regulations and laws governing Assiut University libraries.

 

The following items may not be loaned outside the library:

  • Encyclopedias and encyclopedias
  • Rare books
  • Scientific theses
  • Single copy books

 

External borrowing of the following categories shall not exceed the limits indicated:

4 Bachelor students 2

Fourth: Office and information services:

  • Facilitating internal review services.
  • Providing guidance and counseling services.
  • Providing photography services.
