Registration Requirements
- The Faculty of Computers and Information accepts students who have obtained a high school certificate in mathematics division, specializing in "Physics + Mathematics", and students who obtain certificates of Arab and foreign scientific equivalence certificates, providing that they study a maths subject in the SAT 2 exams in the American diploma and a maths subject at the advanced level or the supplementary level applicant in the English high school diploma. The admission must follow the rules regulating admission coordination in Egyptian universities, which are set by the Supreme Council of Universities and applied by the University Admissions Coordination Office, for students who have obtained high school and equivalent Arab and foreign certificates.
- The Faculty of Computers and Information accepts students transferred to it from the aforementioned certificates, with the approval of the two faculty’s councils from which the student and our faculty are transferred. The transfer is done in the General Administration for Education and Student Affairs for approval by Prof. President of the University (the rules of the Supreme Council of Universities and the rules of the University Council in this regard are observed. ).
- It’s permitted for the faculty of computer science and information to accept students with a scientific division high-school certificate, if he/she follows a special program (critical information system), providing getting a minimum grade that the faculty accepts through transferring to the faculty.
- The faculty of computers and information science accepts students with equivalent Arab or foreign certificates through transferring students to special programs (Software Engineering + Bioinformatics Systems) bearing in mind the minimum grade of each certificate.
Admission mechanism for special programs:
The student should have an Egyptian high-school certificate or an equivalent, according to Universities Organization Law for students applying to the undergraduate stage. It’s allowed for student who got a scientific high school certificate to take (math’s 2) courses in the faculty. The students must pass this course, however, it’s not included in the GPA.
- It’s allowed to transfer to the program after the approval of the faculty council provided a set-off is between the courses that the student has studied and the decisions he/she should study and succeed in. in order to proceed the set-off process, the equivalent grades of the specified grades in the credit hour system should be taken into consideration if necessary.
Bachelor’s Registration Requirements
- The student should obtain a high-school certificate, math’s division, or an equivalent. The acceptance should follow the ranking of success grades, taking into consideration the geographical distribution, according to what the higher universities council decides and taking the opinions of the faculty and university council.
- The medical examination should prove that the student is free from contagious diseases as well as being able to proceed their study according to the rules the faculty and university council sets.
- It’s not allowed for a student to enroll in more than one faculty at the same time.
Enrollment
The student enrolls in the faculty based on an application submitted before the start of the study (registration form). Enrollment after that is not permissible without the permission of the Faculty Board within the limits of the rules decided by the University Council.
The student enrolls in the faculty after completing his/her papers (original documents) and paying the prescribed fees. There is file prepared for each student in the faculty that contains all the papers related to them, such as:
- Enrollment documents:
- The original certificate, accredited with the seal of the emblem of the Republic.
- A modern computerized birth certificate containing the triple number for male students.
- 8 recent personal photos.
- Empty (2 gond) form of the military area (tagned) for male students.
- 19 year-old –students or more should bring a (6 gond) form from the military representative in the center or department to which the student belongs. If there’s no (6 gond) form, he should buy a (7 gond) form from any military representative in the center or police station the student belong to from document 18.
- Male students who are more than 22 year-old can’t be enrolled in the faculty unless they provide what states that they finished their military service or got exempt from it.
- A statement of the student’s educational status and dates of them (enrollment/exams/results/grades).
- A statement of the disciplinary penalties imposed on it.
- A statement of sick excuses and enrollment sustention.
Transferring Rules
- First: similar transfer
Students transferred to the first level:
Transferring student enrollment among faculties of the universities following the Universities Organization Law No. 49 of 1972 and its subsequent amendments according to the provisions stipulated in that law:
- If the student reached the acceptance minimum total grade number. The faculty should be ready to accept new students. The transferring should follow the councils of the two faculties, taking into consideration the geographical distribution.
- New or remaining students who have an equivalent Arab or foreign certificate are transferred through the coordination office, provided obtaining the minimum faculty degree for each of them separately in the year.
- Student’s transferred to level 1:
Students who have a high school mathematics or Arab or foreign equivalent certificates may be accepted into special programs (Software Engineering Program and Bioinformatics Systems Program) in case they obtain the faculty’s minimum in the year of obtaining it for each certificate separately.
Students who have a high school certificate in the Arab or foreign equivalent certificates may be admitted to the bioinformatics program, provided that they obtain the faculty’s minimum in the year of obtaining it for each certificate separately.
- Transferred students to level 2/3:
The faculty accepts transferred students from computer information faculties:
- The students wishing to transfer to the faculty from the aforementioned are notified that the necessary set-off takes place after the arrival of the transfer papers. A stet-off is taken into consideration between the courses the student studied and the courses that he should study and succeed in. To complete the set-off, the grades equivalent to the grades specified in the credit hour system are taken into consideration, if necessary.
- The student must pass and be transferred to the second year.
- The student’s high school certificate must be from Assiut governorate, or an administrative transfer for his parents, or a marriage contract for female students only and the husband is the place of residence and work in the Assiut governorate.
- Transferred students are accepted according to the higher GPA.
- The acceptance rate of the transferred students does not exceed 10% of the number of students enrolled in the second year.
- The transfer request may not be accepted after the start of the study.
Dissimilar transfer
Dissimilar transfer happens in the following cases:
- New students. They’re accepted if their grades meet the minimum set by the faculty this year.
- Remaining students in other faculties. They can be transferred from different faculties to our faculty, provided that their grades meet the minimum the faculty required in their high-school year.
- Remaining students from higher institutes and private universities are transferred through the official coordination office and the General Administration of Education and Student Affairs at the university, provided that the minimum in their high school certificate or equivalent certificate, and completing the subjects eligible for admission.
Transferring from the faculty
- The student submits a request to transfer him to a corresponding faculty or transfer their registration to another faculty or institute according to their desire, and they are given a case statement after making a transfer at the General Administration of Education and Student Affairs, and he can be given the scientific content and the academic record that shows the courses he/she studied and their grades
- When the faculty or institute transferred or transferred to agrees to accept the transfer request, the approval is returned to us and the file is sent for it.
