Assiut University organizes a sculpture exhibition at the Faculty of Fine Arts entitled: "Preserving Personal Traits, their nature and their impact on public figures in field sculpture"
Under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the University, the Faculty of Fine Arts launched, on Monday, July 14, a distinguished art exhibition entitled "preserving personal traits, their nature and their impact on public figures in field sculpture", in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Abdul-Mawla, vice-president of the University for education and student affairs, supervised by Dr. Jamal Badr, vice-president of the University for graduate studies and research, and Dr. Mohammed Helmi El-Hefnawy, dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, and vice-dean of the college for graduate studies and research, and with the participation of Dr. Mohsen Salim, head of the sculpture department and assistant professor by section, the owner of the idea of the exhibition and his exhibited works.
Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, pointed out that the organization of the exhibition comes within the framework of the University's keenness to support the artistic and cultural activities at the Faculty of Fine Arts, because it represents an important aspect in the educational and creative process, explaining that the exhibition represents an artistic and educational experience that contributes to enriching students ' knowledge of field sculpture techniques, and also reflects the role of faculty members in providing applied models that enhance aesthetic concepts and are related to the reality of society and its public figures.
Dr. Ahmed also praised the quality of the exhibited sculptural works, appreciating the effort exerted in their implementation, stressing the importance of sculpture as an artistic means of expressing the distinctive features of public figures and automatically that preserves their nature from distortion and tampering through time.
For his side, Dr. Mohammed Helmy Al-Hefnawy, dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, explained that the exhibition is one of the exhibitions for promotion to the degree of Professor, and highlights the talent of the artist Dr. Mohsen Selim, head of the sculpture department and assistant professor at the department, and his ability to embody the nature of public figures through his artistic skills and experience in the field of sculpture, in a way that enhances cultural and creative identity, and reflects societal values and symbols smoothly and creatively.
Dr. Mohsen Salim explained that the exhibition included nine sculptures executed using bronze and fiberglass coated with bronze, embodying several public figures with an impact on society. He noted that the preservation of the subtle features of human nature gives the sculptural work a depth and high artistic expression, enhances interaction with the audience, and contributes to the development of their artistic and creative taste.
The opening of the exhibition was attended by a group of faculty leaders, including Dr. Mohamed Abdel Hakim, vice dean for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Sahar Boutros, vice dean for community service and Environmental Development, Dr. Mansour Al-Mansi, former dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Dr. Wajdi Nakhla, former dean of the Faculty of specific education, in addition to Professor Mukhlas Farouk Ayad, Secretary of the faculty, and several faculty members and members of the jury of graduation projects from various Egyptian universities.
