Assiut University organizes an awareness seminar at the Faculty of Dentistry on "ways and mechanisms to combat corruption in the era of digital transformation"

Assiut University organized an awareness seminar entitled" ways and mechanisms to combat corruption in the era of digital transformation " at the Faculty of Dentistry, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the University, and within the framework of a series of seminars to be organized at various faculties of the University, in order to raise awareness of the role of digital transformation in addressing corruption, and in implementation of the objectives of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy 2023-2030.

The seminar was attended by Dr. Mustafa Morsi, coordinator of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy for Assiut University, and director of the General Directorate of Information Systems and digital transformation.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed that digital transformation is an effective tool in the fight against corruption, through enhancing transparency, improving efficiency and accountability, reducing direct interactions between individuals and officials, reducing the opportunities for financial and administrative corruption, and enhancing confidence in state institutions.

The president of the University pointed out that the university places at the top of its priorities the dissemination of a culture of integrity and the fight against corruption, and support the efforts of the Egyptian state in the implementation of its national strategy in this regard, believing that the fight against corruption is a necessity to ensure sustainable development and build a society based on transparency and accountability.

The seminar was held under the supervision of Dr. Safa Tohami, dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, and in the presence of Dr. Mohammed Nahed, vice dean for community service and Environmental Development, Professor Ayman Shehata, assistant secretary of the University, Mr. Al-Muntasir Hussein, secretary of the faculty, and a number of faculty members, in addition to a wide participation of faculty staff.

During his speech, Dr. Mohamed Nahed welcomed the attendees, appreciating the keenness of the university administration to raise the awareness of its employees on anti-corruption mechanisms, especially in light of the accelerated digital development witnessed by the era. He also thanked the General Directorate of Information Systems and digital transformation for its efforts.

For his side, Mr. Ayman Shehata explained that the fight against corruption is a collective responsibility, and that the University spares no effort in establishing a culture of integrity, and addressing any manifestations of improper administrative or ethical behavior, pointing to the importance of benefiting from the seminar's themes in the university work environment.

During the symposium, Dr. Mustafa Morsi reviewed the most prominent ways used in the fight against corruption, including legal, institutional, administrative, and societal aspects, as well as international cooperation and technological means. He stressed that digital transformation contributes to reduce opportunities for corruption by reducing bribery and nepotism, facilitating reporting mechanisms, and using advanced digital tools such as artificial intelligence to monitor improper transactions within governmental institutions.
