Prof. Tarek El-Jammal, President of Assiut University, praised the role of the medical sector at Assiut University, which plays a tremendous and distinct role in the service of patients and their health care, in addition to the huge numbers achieved during the vital and active participation carried out by the hospitals of Assiut University in the presidential initiative 100 million health and launched by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi president of the Republic to detect virus "C" and non-communicable diseases, stressing to continue to harness all the potential of the University including advanced medical devices and equipment and excellent human cadres in order to achieve a concrete fruitful participation in the initiative "Supporting the Health of Egyptian Women", which is a result of the initiative 100 million health. This came in response to the report submitted to him by prof. Sami Abdel Rahman, Dean of the South Egypt Cancer Institute, to follow up the campaign within the institute, through which prof. Sami pointed out that the Institute continues its participation in the initiative, which began on 7 July, and extends for two consecutive months under Major General Jamal Nour elddine, governor of Assiut and in cooperation with the Directorate of Health, through an operating room equipped with an electronic system directly linked to the Ministry of Health to monitor and record cases transferred to it, adding that an average of 120 cases are transferred to it daily where the careful examination includes sonar and mammogram whether at the institute or at the radiology department at Assiut University Hospital. Prof. Hosny Badrawi, Vice_ dean of the Institute for Community Service and Environmental Development, revealed that since the start of the initiative, the institute has received about 3,000 women who had medical tests to detect breast cancer, which included 1,100 mammogram breast scans to accurately identify the disease, and this comes in cooperation with the Radiology Department at the University Hospital.
