.     Dr. El-Minshawy: The campaign supports the blood banks of Hospital 57357, Assiut University Hospital, and public hospitals, reflecting the university’s commitment to community service.

On the morning of Monday, June 23, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, inaugurated the blood donation campaign organized by the university’s Military Education Administration in coordination with the Popular and Military Defense Forces. The campaign, held in front of the Faculty of Commerce auditoriums, will run over two days — June 23 and 24.

The campaign is held under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Abdel Mawla, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Lieutenant Colonel Mohamed Rabie, Director of the Military Education Department, with the participation of students of the military education course.

The event also saw the participation of several faculty leaders, including: Dr. Alaa Abdel Hafeez, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce, Dr. Mohamed Adawy, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs and Advisor to the University President for Alumni Affairs, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation, Dr. Amal El-Daly, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Nesma Heshamt, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Mr. Abdelkader Mehran, Secretary of the Faculty and Head of the Central Administration for Human Resources.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy confirmed that the campaign aims to support the blood banks at 57357 Children's Cancer Hospital and Assiut University Hospital, in addition to a number of public hospitals in Assiut governorate, noting that this initiative comes within the framework of the university's efforts to spread the culture of blood donation and promote the values of humanitarian work and community solidarity among students.

The University President expressed Assiut University's keenness to consolidate the culture of giving and support humanitarian efforts in the health field, pointing out that blood donation represents the highest form of altruism and giving, and reflects the extent of the university students' awareness of the importance of their role in serving their community.

He added that the university adopts a comprehensive vision to promote the concepts of community participation and solidarity, and works to develop the spirit of social responsibility among its students, through continuous cooperation with various parties to organize health and community events that serve the nation and support medical institutions.

Dr. El-Minshawy also appreciated the constructive cooperation with the Popular and Military Defense Command, which reflects the leadership's support for the roles of universities in spreading national awareness and promoting belonging, noting that this cooperation contributes to instilling a spirit of loyalty among students and enhances their role in implementing humanitarian and national initiatives that express their collective awareness and responsibility towards their community.

He commended the enthusiasm shown by the students participating in the campaign, stating that such active involvement reflects a genuine societal awareness and sincere patriotism.

Following his tour of the campaign, Dr. El-Minshawy attended part of the Military Education Course lectures for male students, taking place from June 14 to 26, with 1,083 students participating. The session was attended by several officers from the Popular and Military Defense Forces. During his meeting with the students, he highlighted the importance of these courses in fostering national belonging, discipline, and responsibility.

The university president also emphasized the deep-rooted bond between the Egyptian people and their valiant army under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, calling on young people to recognize the magnitude of the challenges facing the country and assume their responsibility to protect its capabilities and stability.

In the same context, the university president inspected the National Education Course lectures designated for female students, with 1,340 students participating. The session was attended by Dr. Dina Murad, Lecturer in the Department of Forensic Medicine and Clinical Toxicology at the Faculty of Medicine. Dr. El-Minshawy expressed his pride in the active participation of the female students, affirming that women are essential partners in nation-building and that empowering them both intellectually and nationally is a key step in preparing generations capable of defending national causes and actively contributing to the country’s progress.
