Assiut University witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol with the International Company for Medical Supplies within the framework of the Korean project between the Faculty of Engineering and Korea Tech University within the framework of the activities of the Korean project “Developing research and educational capabilities with advanced technologies at the Faculty of Engineering and funded by the Ministry of Education in South Korea and implemented by Korea Tech University, under the auspices of Dr. Tarek El-Gamal, President of Assiut University and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Korean Project, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, in the presence of Dr. Nubi Mohamed Hassan, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Director of the Korean Project, Dr. Moamen Taha El-Meligy, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, and Dr. Ahmed Hamza, head of the Mechanical Engineering Department in college.
Dr. Nobi Mohamed Hassan stated that the protocol comes within the activities of the Korean project that aims to develop and strengthen the relationship between the university and industry to establish a long-term relationship based on mutual benefit and participation between the two parties in the educational process and the industrial process in order to achieve sustainable development for the two fields. The International Company of Medical Supplies work on manufacturing a highly accurate and important medical necessities through several factories inside and outside Egypt and are exported to all countries of the world.
Dr. Moamen Taha Al-Meligy explained that the protocol stipulates a number of joint work rules between the two parties, as the International Company for Medical Supplies provides annual trainings for students of the Faculty of Engineering in the departments of mechanical, electrical and medical engineering, in a way that prepares students for the industrial work environment and qualifies them for the labor market after graduation. The company also participates with the college in Scientific research in fields of common interest.
Dr. Ahmed Hamza Al-Husseini added that the signing of the protocol aims at the participation of industrial bodies in scientific research with the university, in addition to qualifying students for the labor market directly from the university. It is also the first link in a series of protocols with a group of local and international factories to implement the project’s vision and ensure the continuity of the project goals even after it is over.
