Dr. El-Minshawy honors Assiut University students of determination who won the "Golden talents" and"University Paralympics" competitions and the 51st and 52nd martyr Rifai championships
Prof. Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, honored, on Monday, July 14, a distinguished elite of university students of determination, in recognition of their honorable achievements by obtaining advanced positions in a number of major events and competitions, most notably: the "Golden talents for people with special abilities" competition in its seventh season, and the"Egyptian universities Paralympics", in addition to the 51st and 52nd martyr Rifai championships.
This honor came under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula, vice president of the University for education and Student Affairs, and chairman of the board of students with disabilities, and Dr. Umniah Abdulkader, director of the Center for students with disabilities, in the presence of Dr. Madiha Darwish, dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and general supervisor of student activities, Dr. Haitham Ibrahim, Director General of the General Administration of student welfare, and a number of specialists in the administration, as part of the University's keenness to support and empower its students with disabilities.
In his speech, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy expressed his pride and pride in what the University's people of determination have achieved, stressing that their achievements reflect a strong will and exceptional determination, stressing the University's constant keenness to support this distinguished category, empower it and integrate it into all activities, in implementation of the directives of the political leadership headed by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, which believes in the importance of empowering people of determination as a key pillar in building the New Republic and achieving the goals of Egypt's Vision 2030.
Dr. El-Minshawy also thanked and appreciated all those responsible for caring and supporting university students of determination, stressing that the university continues its efforts towards empowering them and highlighting their energies and abilities as active and influential elements inside and outside the university community.
Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula pointed out that this honor comes as the culmination of a march of effort and sincere work on the part of students, and the fruit of cooperation and integration of efforts between the university administration and the Center for students with disabilities care in creating a supportive environment and stimulating creativity and excellence.
Dr. Omnia Abdulkader explained the superiority of the university students in the "Golden talents" competition organized by the cultural development fund sector at the Ministry of culture, where the student Youssef Hassouna won the first place in religious chanting, the choir team won the second place in group singing, the student Mustafa Kamal won the second place in solo singing, and the student Nour al – Mutassim won the second place in solo singing-the second category.
On the sports level, the results of the 51st martyr al – Rifai Athletics Championship resulted in 16 male and female students winning 28 various medals, including 10 gold medals, 11 silver, 7 bronze, as well as 3 medals in weightlifting (1 Gold-2 silver), within the championship organized by the Egyptian sports federation for universities.
In the 52nd edition of the same championship, 13 male and female students were crowned with 22 medals in athletics, including 4 gold, 5 silver, 13 bronze, as well as two medals in Table Tennis (1 Gold – 1 silver).
As for the Egyptian universities Paralympics organized by the Ministry of youth and sports, 20 students managed to win 20 medals in athletics, table tennis, and weightlifting, including 8 gold, 4 silver, and 8 bronze medals.
It is noteworthy that these distinguished participations were coordinated by Dr. Jamal Al-Sawy, managing director of the Center for students with disabilities, and Dr. Mohammed Yassin, coordinator of activities at the center.
