Assiut University ranks among the top universities in the Times English ranking for Sustainable Development 2024, The third in Egypt 401 globally

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, announced the university's achievement in the Times English ranking for THE Impact 2024, which assesses universities based on their contribution to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs). The university secured the third position in Egypt and 401 globally out of 2152 universities from 125 countries.0

Dr. Gamal Badr, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, explained that this ranking relies on several key indicators such as scientific research published in international journals over the last five years, community engagement activities, and awareness efforts towards achieving each Sustainable Development Goal.

Dr. Omar Mamdouh Shaaban, Director of the International Ranking Office, highlighted Assiut University's significant progress in the following areas related to Sustainable Development Goals:

Ranked 28th globally and first among Egyptian government universities in energy efficiency and clean energy.
Ranked 75th globally and first among Egyptian government universities in clean water.
Ranked 81st globally and second among Egyptian government universities in poverty alleviation.
Ranked 101-200 globally and second among Egyptian government universities in hunger eradication.
Ranked 201-300 globally and first among Egyptian government universities in educational quality.
This advancement reflects Assiut University's strategic vision and the collaborative efforts of all its faculties and research centers under the motto "We deserve the best", aimed at enhancing the university's international ranking and integrating efforts across its academic landscape
