Dr. Sami Irfan, Dean of the South Egypt Institute of Oncology at Assiut University, announced the success of a medical team at the institute in saving the life of a 67-year-old patient, by performing a successful surgery during which a malignant tumor weighing 30 kg was removed. The dean of the institute pointed out that this comes within the framework of the tremendous health service provided within the institute to more than 40 thousand patients annually of different ages and from various governorates of Upper Egypt, with the support and care of Dr. Tarek El-Gammal, President of Assiut University. Dr. Sami Irfan also explained that the patient was received suffering from constant swelling and increase in the abdomen with chronic constipation, and by examining it and conducting the necessary medical examinations under the supervision of Dr. Abdominal tumor
