On the sidelines of Egypt's hosting of the International Conference COP 27 next November in Sharm el-Sheikh
Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Menshawi, Acting President of Assiut University, Prof. Dr. Maha Ghanem, Vice President for Environmental Affairs and Community Service, and Prof. Dr. Magdy Alwan, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, a seminar entitled "Climate Change, Its Causes and Repercussions" was organized. In the presence of Prof. Dr. Hamed Mashhour, Vice Dean for Environmental Affairs and Community Service, Prof. Dr. Khalid Salama, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and a group of faculty members and their assistants at the College,

Through it, he referred to the natural causes of climate change and the human causes of climate change through increasing the concentration of greenhouse gases due to the industrial revolution and technological progress of man, as well as touched on the most important negative repercussions of climate change and the extent of its impact on water resources in Egypt as well as agricultural production, health and tourism, in addition to the scenarios of sea level rise and the extent of its impact on Egyptian coastal cities in terms of environmental, population, urban and economic, as Dr. Wael Zahran, Assistant Professor at the Department of Geography.  Giving an educational part about the importance of awareness of everything new about the repercussions of this phenomenon and its long-term developments.
