The Department’s vision is:
Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Department, Faculty of dentistry, Assiut university, seeks to be the leading in the field of academics, histopathological innovations, research and patient care. And aspires keeping up with technology. It also aims at developing the scientific research and leadership skills of students.
The Department’s missions are:
- Education:
- The primary mission of the Department is to teach dental students to be qualified general practitioners with competence in the areas of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, developmental anomalies, mucosal diseases including oral cancer and individuals with systemic diseases complicating delivery of dental, oral and maxillofacial therapy.
- Learning skills in decision making, problem solving, critical thinking, and the need for life long learning.
- Research:
Investigations in the areas of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, Pharmacology and Therapeutics, to increase understanding of oral and para-oral diseases, its recognition, its treatment, and its prevention.
- Service:
- To ensure optimal care through accurate diagnosis of diseases and abnormalities of the oral and maxillofacial region, and reporting services to the college and university hospitals, clinicians and private practitioners.
- To provide a center for teaching and dissemination of knowledge through its archived collections, its courses and public service.
