Assiut University is witnessing the launch of the annual scientific conference of the Faculty of Education, entitled Education Curricula in the New Republic between Reality and Hope
Today, Monday, May 15, 2023, at Assiut University, the proceedings of the annual scientific conference of the Faculty of Education, organized by the Department of Curricula and Teaching Methods, were launched under the title: “Educational curricula in the new republic between reality and aspirations”, under the auspices of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawi, President of the University,
And the presence of Dr. Ahmed Abdel Mawli, Acting Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Aleem, Acting Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Hassan Mohamed Huwail, Dean of the College of Education, Dr. Mohamed Riad Ahmed, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Dr. Ali Kamal Ma’bad, Head of the Department of Curricula and Teaching Methods and Chairman of the Conference, and Dr. Hamdi Muhammad Muhammad al-Bitar, Professor of Curricula and Teaching Methods and Rapporteur of the Conference, with the participation of a group of college deputies, faculty members and their assistants, and a number of education leaders and teachers participating in the conference.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Minshawi stressed that the conference’s work coincides with the sincere efforts made by the political leadership to build the new republic, laying its foundations on the pillars of science and knowledge, and building the human being intellectually and culturally, which is difficult to achieve away from the development of the education file in Egypt in its various stages, including keeping pace with scientific development.
During the opening of the conference, Dr. Ahmed Abdel Mawli pointed out the importance of the role of the Faculty of Education at the university, and its role in preparing the teacher as one of the main pillars in the educational process, stressing the importance of the pre-university education stage, in light of the stages of development in the new system, and keeping pace with modern trends that contribute to In creating a generation capable of change, wishing the success of the conference and coming up with fruitful and effective recommendations.
In his speech, Dr. Mahmoud Abdel-Aleem explained the great importance of the topic of this year's conference, in terms of addressing the interest of the Egyptian state in education issues and building the Egyptian person in the new republic. And how to develop the existing curricula in order to integrate the educational service in a way that keeps pace with scientific development and global changes with an accelerated pace; To reach Egypt's vision for sustainable development 2030.
In this context, Dr. Hassan Muhammad Huwail expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the President of the University for his continuous support for various scientific and research activities, pointing out that this year's conference represents the fourth scientific forum of the College of Education, which was preceded by the first annual conference of the Department of Mental Health, the second of the Department of Fundamentals of Education, and the third To the Department of Comparative Education, stressing the importance of the curricula as the most important pillars of the educational process and the vessel from which the learner draws what qualifies him to work, and therefore the development of the educational process is linked to the development of the curricula with its various elements.
Dr. Mohamed Riyad noted that education is considered one of the important axes within the aspirations and aspirations of Egypt in the era of the new republic. Therefore, the conference aims to review the requirements and mechanisms for implementing and applying the curricula of the new education system in the new republic, employing modern teaching strategies in the curricula of the new education system in the new republic, employing educational technology in the curricula of the new education, employing educational activities in the curricula of the new education, and employing modern evaluation methods in New education curricula, teacher preparation and professional development in the new education curricula, the role of educational leadership in managing the new educational system, facing challenges and obstacles that would impede its application in the right way, and submitting proposals for developing the evaluation process and developing pre-university education curricula.
In a related context, Dr. Ali Kamal Mabad indicated that the conference aimed to discuss the educational curricula in the new system, which is based on a new educational system for the kindergarten and primary stages. Dr. Hamdi Al-Bitar explained that the conference witnessed a discussion of about 12 research papers by selected faculty members, their assistants and a number of teachers in the education sector, through two practical sessions.
It is worth noting that the opening session of the conference witnessed the honoring of Dr. Ahmed Al-Minshawi, the President of the University, and it was received on his behalf by Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Mawly, his Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, as well as honoring the Vice-Presidents of the University for the sectors of Education and Student Affairs, Community Service Affairs and Environmental Development, in addition to honoring the Dean of the Faculty, the Vice-Presidents and the heads of the department. Current and former students, as well as members of the faculty and supporting staff who were promoted this year.
