Opening of the annual science exhibition by the Asyut Robotics team

Under the patronage of Prof. Ahmed Abdel-Moula, President of the University; Prof. Khaled Salah Saeed, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; and Prof. Mohamed Safwat Abu Raya, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; and under the supervision of Prof. Mazen Mohamed Shafiq Abdel-Salam, Academic Supervisor of the "Assiut Robotics" team—along with Mr. Mohamed Sharaqa, Director of the Student Welfare Department, and Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Sayed, Supervisor of Scientific Activities—

The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, the Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and the Academic Supervisor of the Assiut Robotics team inaugurated the team’s annual scientific exhibition. Held in the front courtyard of the Faculty of Engineering, the exhibition runs from Monday, October 12, to Wednesday, October 14, 2026. It showcases the team’s key projects, which have been featured in various local and international student competitions over the past years.

Assiut Robotics is a student scientific group registered with the Faculty’s Student Welfare Department. The team began its journey in 2007 under the name "RoboCon" before adopting its current name in 2015. It operates under the auspices of the Student Welfare Department, with scientific supervision provided by Prof. Mazen Abdel-Salam, alongside Eng. Sayed Khader (Teaching Assistant in the Department of Mechanical Engineering) and Eng. Ibrahim Mohamed (Teaching Assistant in the Department of Electrical Engineering). The team includes a large number of college students, led by Ahmed Eid Al-Madi, a student in the Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering program. It comprises seven main committees: Public Relations, Human Resources, Organization, Digital Marketing, Software, the Mechanical Academic Committee, and the Electrical Academic Committee.

The team showcased several projects they develop annually, such as a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV), a landmine-detecting robot, an Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV), a line-following robot, a 3D printer, a CNC machine, the IAM3D (R.O.V.E.R) project, and various other initiatives.

Over the next two days, the exhibition is set to welcome school students, introducing them to the fields of robotics and technology.
