Visit of the project team to support and rehabilitate educational programs in higher education institutions to the Project Management Unit of the Faculty of Engineering

Yesterday, Wednesday, May 15, 2024, Prof. Dr. Ezzat Abdel Moneim Marghany, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, received in his office a team from the Project Support Unit of the Ministry of Higher Education, including: Prof. Dr. Mohamed El Shazly, Director of the Unit, Dr. Ahmed Abdel Wahab, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Nasser, Director of the Projects Unit at the University, Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Ismail, former Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Director of the Quality Assurance Center, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Safwat, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Environmental Affairs and Community Service, and Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abbas, Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering.

The visit was to follow up on the progress of work and what has been accomplished in the project to support and qualify the Electronics and Communications Engineering Program of the Electrical Engineering Department for accreditation by the American international body ABET.

This project was obtained in 2021 in cooperation between the Project Support Unit at the Ministry of Higher Education and Assiut University. The objectives of this project are to upgrade the infrastructure and laboratory equipment in the Electronics and Communications Engineering Program, as well as to apply for international accreditation for the program from ABET.

The delegation visited the Department of Electrical Engineering, where Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Azim Nael, Head of the Department, received the delegation. The visit activities began with a presentation by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abbas, Professor of Electrical Engineering and Executive Director of the project, in which he reviewed the steps that had been accomplished in the project. Then, the laboratories and lecture halls that had been developed were visited, and the devices that had been purchased to support the laboratories were reviewed.
