Under the supervision of Pro. Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of the University, Assiut University adopts a distinguished set of study programs during the academic year 2024/2025 that keep pace with the requirements of the renewed labor market at the local and international levels, and provide students with unique opportunities to achieve their professional goals.

📌The Faculty of Arts at Assiut University presents  the "Expantion, Maps and Geographic Information Systems" program - on the credit hour system; which aims to: prepare a graduate with scientific, field and research skills who is able to use and employ those skills in the field of surveying, geographic information systems, and map production; to serve planning projects and development programs, under the supervision of: Prof. Ahmed Abdel Mawla, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs and Supervisor of the Faculty of Arts, Dr. Khaled Salama, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Khaled Badra, Program Coordinator.

📌The program accepts new students accepted from the Faculty of Arts at Assiut University, holding a high school certificate, or equivalent, or transferred from other faculties.

📌Duration of study in the program: Four years including (8) semesters, and some courses can be studied in Summer Courses.

📌The program qualifies graduates to work as an area and mapping specialist, or a systems and geographic information specialist for many aeronautical and marine companies, petroleum companies, construction and development companies, geological surveying, engineering business enterprises, the Environmental Affairs Authority, electricity authorities, the Ministry of Agriculture, and the Ministry of Water Resources.

📌The program organizes practical training for its students, in some companies, including: Arab Contractors Company, Egyptian General Authority for Surveying, Petroleum Refining Company in Assiut, Water, Drinking and Sanitation Company in Assiut, Al Nasr Mining Company in Hamraween.

📌The graduate of the program obtains a Bachelor of Arts degree / Expansion, Maps and Geographic Information Systems program, with the job title of a survey specialist.
