Within the framework
of a workshop entitled "Mental Hygiene", organized by the Centre for Educational
and Psychological Counseling, Faculty of Education, Assiut University celebrated
the International Day for Mental Hygiene.
The Dean of the Faculty of Education indicated that the workshop coincides with
the World celebrations of the World Mental Hygiene normally organized by the WHO
on the 10th of October to promote the public awareness of mental hygiene issues.
He also indicated that the workshop handled a number of other key themes such
as: the impact of mental hygiene on social, economic, biological, and ecological
factors. Besides, it also addressed other issues related to psychic disorders
and social pressures, poverty indicators and psychic problems, risks of violence
and violations of human rights, in addition to analyses of some biological
factors causing mental disorders including genetic factors and the imbalance
chemical substances in the brain.
