Dr. Ahmed El Minshawy, Acting President of Assiut University, emphasized the university’s administration interest in research, interdisciplinary and applied studies, and achieving leadership in these disciplines through its specialized laboratories and faculties that include distinguished human resources and qualified cadres of faculty members and their assistants. This has been for serving scientific research; the approach adopted by the previous and the current university administrations over the past years through permanent development of the infrastructure of its various faculties and research laboratories, and providing them with the latest modern tools, human and material capabilities, as well as its distinction in the field of medical sector, its possession of an integrated medical city, and its specialized hospitals; designed according to the latest international medical and research systems.
This comes during his meeting with the Basic Sciences Sector Committee on the sidelines of their scientific visits to the university, which includes Dr. Mohamed Sayed Salama, former Vice President of Ain Shams University, Dr. Tarek Mustafa, Dean of the Faculty of Science, Tanta University, Dr. Tarek Ali, Dean of the Institute of Laser Research and Applications, Beni Suef University, in the presence of Dr. Asmaa Abdel Nasser, Dean of Molecular Biology Researches and Studies Institute, Dr. Abdel Hamid Abu Sehla, Dean of the Faculty of Science, and Dr. Amr Abdel Fattah, the Institute’s Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research.
Dr. Asmaa Abdel Nasser clarified that the meeting comes on the sidelines of the committee members’ visit to the Molecular Biology Researches and Studies Institute, its various departments and units with the aim of evaluation thereof and identifying the systems used for work therein, after 3 years of its establishment, to be the first institute specialized in research and applications of molecular biology, at the level of the Arab Republic of Egypt that aims to achieve scientific and research excellence and leadership in the field of molecular biology through commitment to the elements of quality and continuous development in order to reach sustainable development, community service and preservation of the environment.
