Assiut University Professor Wins the Scientific Distinction Award for Young Arab Archeologists

Dr. Sameh Fekry El-Banna, Associate Professor of Archeology and Islamic Arts,  has won the 2014 Award for scientific distinction; an award that is granted annually to young Arab archeologists who participate effectively with serious and creative research in the field of Archeology, and whose work proves scientific distinction among peers from Egypt and the Arab countries.   Dr. El-Banna got his M.A. in 2003 and PhD in 2008 in the field of Islamic Manuscripts during the Timurid and Safavid eras. This award was granted to Dr. El-Banna after his nomination by three authorities: the Department of Archeology, Faculty of Arts, Assiut University, Assiut Governorate, and the Institute for Arab Manuscripts affiliated to the League of Arab States.   Dr. El-Banna will be officially honored by receiving the award during the 17th Conference of the General Union of Arab Archeologists at the Location of the Union from 1-3 November 2014.
