Prof. Ahmed Al-Menshawi, President of Assuit University, stressed the keenness of the University to improve the quality of administrative performance by developing the skills and capacities of the University’s administrative body and enhancing the efficiency of its employees. He also pointed out the University’s keenness to create a positive administrative environment that contributes to achievement of the goals and vision of the University to develop work, improve performance and increase productivity according to the University’s strategic goal.
In this context, the General Administration for Talent Management and Development organized a workshop entitled “Art and Skills of Office and Meeting Management” under the auspices of Prof. Ahmed Al-Menshawi, President of Assuit University and in the presence of Mr. Shawkat Saber Thabet, Secretary General of the University; Mr. Moustafa Hassan, Assistance Secretary of the University; Mr. Mahmoud Younes Ahmed, head of the Central Administration for Human Resources; Mr. Khaled Omran, General Manager of the General Administration for Talent Management and Development; and with the participation of 50 staff members of the Secretariat Sector in various sectors of the University. The workshop was held during the period from July 24 to July 26 July in the Seminar Hall of the Administrative Building.
In his speech, Mr. Shawkat Saber stressed the vital role played by the secretariat in organizing meetings and preparing for them properly, which saves time and facilitates work. In this regard, the University Administration is keen to develop the administrative body through workshops and training courses.
Mr. Moustafa Hassan indicated that a manager’s success stems from the success of the secretaries, as they are responsible for organizing work and producing it properly. He called on the staff of this sector to develop themselves through benefiting by the workshops and training courses organized in this regard.
Mr. Mahmoud Younes pointed out the topics of the workshop; notably, the secretarial concept, the qualities and skills that a secretary must have, executive secretariat, the concept and types of meetings, how to prepare an agenda and identify the smart steps to handle problems, and how to deal with superiors, colleagues and visitors.
Mr. Khaled Omran praised the University’s keenness to hold workshops and training sessions on an ongoing basis in order to improve and develop the administrative body, save time and improve the services provided.
It is worth mentioning that the workshop lasts for three days, during which lectures will be given by Prof. Mohamed Moustafa Hamd, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Education for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Ahmed Sayed Al-Sibai and Prof. Al-Motaz Billah El-Prince, professors at the Faculty of Commerce.
