Students at the Faculty of Engineering Invents a Lightening System by Solar Power at a Low Cost

The students of the Faculty of Engineering at Assiut University have invented lampposts that would lighten the street through solar power at the lowest possible cost. Dr. Mohammed Abu al-Qasim, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, explained that the project of "the systems of independent photovoltaic solar power to illuminate the streets in Egypt," aims to lighten the streets using solar power (which is the source of clean energies that do not dry up) instead of the traditional street lamps. The students carried out this project with a very simple cost, where the cost of each lamppost is 5550 LE and has caertain specifications (Scout 60 watts, a solar panel 150 watt, battery 100 amp and charger control 10 amp). The metal components have been manufactured at the workshops of the faculty of Engineering.
