For the First Time in Upper Egypt, State-Sponsored Treatment Shares in the Costs of a Corneal Transplant Surgery for a Female Patient at Assiut University Hospital

Dr. Tarek Al-Gammal, Assiut University Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research and Chairman of the Hospitals Board of Directors, announced the success of the Department of Ophthalmology in a corneal transplant surgery. For the first time, the costs of this surgery were sponsored by the state, and it has been performed in part of the efforts of the University administration, headed by Dr. Ahmed A. Gaeis, to legalize the process of establishing an ophthalmology bank in Assiut University for the service of Upper Egyptian patients.
