The activities of the joint textile workshop were launched for the students of the Department of Art Education at the Faculty of Specific Education and the Argentine artist Maria Cristina. The workshop, based on the use of techniques, methods and symbols of South American culture in the textile specialization, was organized by the Department of Art Education, in the presence of Prof. Wagdi Refaat, Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education, Prof. Amal Abu Zayed, Dean of the Faculty of Art Education at Minia University, Dr. Abrar Mustafa, Vice-Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Hala Salah El Din Abdel Sattar, Head of the Department of Art Education, and Dr. Mamdouh Ali Youssef, Emeritus Professor at the Faculty of Engineering, and Dr. Rihab Ahmed, Department of Art Education, and artist director Ismail Bakr, and a group of faculty members and their assistants, and with the participation of graduate and postgraduate students.
Dr. Wagdy Refaat explained that the workshop spanned for four days, as the second day witnessed the opening of a joint art exhibition by artist Maria Christina and the creations of students, and the third day witnessed a visit to the Virgin Mary Monastery in Assiut, and the activities of the workshop concluded with honoring the college administration of the artist Maria Christina and also faculty members and workshop leaders.
Assiut University welcomes Argentine artist Maria Christina during her participation in launching the activities of the textile workshop for students of art education at the Faculty of Specific Education
