Professor El-Gammal has appointed Professor Omar M. Shabaan as the IRO director and Dr. Ahmed T. Helal as the IRO coordinator. The new devoted office aims at implementing a strategic plan to improve the practices that will ultimately lead to improvement of the university ranking. It is worth mentioning that Assiut University has achieved a great leap in its ranking position among the rest of the Arabic and International universities in the last few year. International ranking serves as a standard of excellence for universities and is an important source of comparative information for various stakeholders.
