Tarek El-Gamal, President of Assiut University, congratulated the participating "Eco Spring Team" from the students of the Faculty of Engineering for their outstanding excellence and for obtaining the first place at the level of Egyptian universities for designing the first energy-saving and environmentally friendly car, wishing them an honorable representation of Egypt and Egyptian universities in the upcoming competitions.
In a related context, Dr. Shehata Ghareeb, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, stressed the university administration's keenness to provide material and technical support for such innovations which come within the Egypt and United Nations plan for the year 2030, and the idea on which the design was based came to support the idea of thinking outside the box and this is what the Egyptian state seeks in the coming period. The car operates with an electric battery that saves energy and at the same time has no harmful emissions so it works in an environmentally friendly way.
Dr. Shehata Ghareeb also added that the student team’s participation came within the framework of the Science and Innovation Club activity in the General Administration of Youth Welfare under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Saad, assistant professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department, Eng. Ahmed Samir Teaching Assistant in the Mechanics Department, and Engineer Ramy Antar, Teaching Assistant in the Mechanics Department.
Dr. Shehata Gharib explained that the team, consisting of 20 students from the Faculty of Engineering from various departments, will represent Egyptian universities in the coming period through the Shell International Car Design Competition in France, in which more than 50 countries from participate in addition to participating in the African Forum competition, which is scheduled to be held in Dubai.
