Prof. Ahmed Alminshawy announced the opening of admission for Information Systems and Public Policy program "PPIS", which is considered the first specialised program in Egypt and Arab countries that combines information systems (programming), public policy and public administration.
Prof. Ahmed Alminshawy stated the PPIS program makes a distinguished graduate, who is able to work in the field of programming, information systems and artificial intelligence in all institutions and private and public agencies. Teaching in this program depends on the credit hours system. The program provids great opportunities of joining different organizations of the country and the banking and private sectors.
Prof. Ahmed Alminshawy noted that the program includes a remarkable staff of professors of political science, public policy, accounting, economy, business administration, statistics, computer and information and engineering. Besides, the program employs a number of excellent experts of information systems to teach some curriculum that include artificial intelligence, massive data, and data mining and analysis.
Prof. Alaa Abdulhafith, the dean of the faculty of commerce, clarified that the program provides for the graduates many job opportunities in government ministries, such as: ministries of trade, finance, planing and international cooperation, industry, investment, Suez Canal Authority, service ministries, local development and administration, ministries of transport, health, ministry of communication and information technology, banks and financial associations, tax authority and general authority for investment, chambers of commerce and companies of the public and private sectors, investment companies, financial and economic companies, stock exchanges and financial markets, the diplomatic career in ministry of foreign affairs, consulate work, departments of political analysis, public policy in think tanks, information and decision support center in the cabinet, visual and print media, and news websites.
The dean added that the "PPIS" studying course is expected to take four years, in order to make the student receive his bachelors degree. He noted that one of admission requirements is receiving the high school diploma, or an equivalent Arab or foreign certificate, at the same year of admission. The student must be admitted to the faculty of commerce via Coordination Office, or has been admitted to a corresponding or non corresponding faculty, and must fulfill the minimum admission. The required English language mark will be defined according to the decision of the the faculty internal coordination.
