Prof. El-Minshawy: adopts the ideas of innovators and creators of university students in the field of advanced technology and entrepreneurship

Prof. Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, held a meeting to discuss several topics related to the activity and services of the Innovative Projects and Student Creativity Unit at Assiut University, after the restructuring of the Board of Directors.

During the meeting, Prof. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed the university's keenness to implement all presidential directives on the need to take care of talented people and talented universities in various fields, pointing out that the university provides means of support for innovative students, develop their capabilities and facilitate all necessary measures, through; training and rehabilitation programs and workshops; provided by experts and specialists in this field, and these programs help students who have innovative ideas to develop their ideas, launch their projects, and compete in the markets.

The President of Assiut University explained that the Innovation Projects and Student Creativity Unit at the university aims to promote the culture of entrepreneurship and spread it among university students; through the adoption of student proposals and ideas related to innovative projects in advanced technology and entrepreneurship, and contribute to encouraging young people to be creative and innovation, and actively participate in the economic construction of the state, and achieving development in all fields.

The meeting reviewed the measures taken to support innovative student projects, start-ups, training, and rehabilitation in the fields of entrepreneurship, innovation, and advanced technology.

The meeting also dealt with the proposal to hold a semi-annual exhibition of projects financed by the unit, the mechanisms for expanding the unit in its services, and embracing more projects and innovative ideas.

It should be noted that the unit was established by the decision of the University Council No. (2894) in November 2018, and it is a unit affiliated with the Vice President for Education and Student Affairs. Its tasks are focused on receiving applications from students who have innovative projects, and then; evaluating them, providing material and technical support to them, and marketing them in exhibitions and competitions. The unit also holds training courses and workshops for university students, in my field of creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Ahmed Abdel Mawla, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Unit, and members of the Board of Directors; namely: Dr. Mohammed Adwai, Advisor to the President of the University for Alumni Affairs, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation, Dr. Ali Mohammed Abdel Rahim, Professor at the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Jamal Abdul Nasser Ahmed, the lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Ali Hussein Ahmed, the lecturer at the Faculty of Computers and Information, Dr. Haitham Ibrahim, Director General of the General Directorate of Student Welfare, Mohammed Hussein Mohammed Mohammed, a demonstrator at the Faculty of Engineering, Mohammed Adel Ahmed Al-Baroudi (businessman), Mr. Ihab Abdul Hamid, Head of the Medium and Small Enterprises Authority in Assiut, and Miss Lula Mohammed Atta, Administrative Director of the Unit.
