Tarek El-Gammal, President of Assiut University, stressed the efforts of the university administration aimed at enhancing the efforts of the Egyptian state and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in supporting digital transformation, as well as the constant pursuit of achieving the goals of Egypt’s Vision 2030 by shifting towards a knowledge-based digital economy, encouraging innovation, research and development and motivating its students to participate in shaping the features of the new republic.
This came in response to the report submitted to him by Dr. Shehata Ghareeb, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, regarding the qualification of students of the Faculty of Computer Science for the first time among four universities at the level of the republic to participate in the launch of the first Egyptian Hackathon at the state level in the smart cities of the new administrative capital organized by Benha University, in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Amazon, during the period from 24 to 26 March, under the auspices of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Dr. Gamal Sousse, President of Benha University,
The winners of the hackathon will receive financial prizes up to 100,000 Egyptian pounds from Benha University, in addition to valuable prizes provided by Amazon Web Services. The winners will also have a great opportunity to market their innovations to the new Egyptian private universities.
