Assiut University announces the preliminary statements for the student union elections for the academic year 2024/2025

Prof. El-Minshawy: the electoral process is proceeding with complete transparency and neutrality and providing a suitable atmosphere for students to cast their votes

The Higher Committee for student union elections, at Assiut University, under the supervision of prof. El-Minshawy, announced the preliminary statements of students applying to contest the student union elections for the academic year 2024/2025, which includes (895) students, at various faculties of the university; to compete on seven committees, including: families, technical, sports, cultural, mobile, social, scientific, and the final statements are scheduled to be announced tomorrow, Wednesday, November 20.

  Prof. El-Minshawy pointed out the need to adhere to the dates of student union elections according to the announced schedule, and to take into account the rules of electoral propaganda, stressing that the university has completed its preparations to ensure the conduct of the electoral process with transparency, complete neutrality, and provide a suitable atmosphere for all students to cast their votes, calling on students to participate effectively to choose who represents them truly.

The marathon of student union elections starts inside Assiut University for the academic year 2024, under the supervision of: Dr. Ahmed Abdel - Mawla, vice - president of the University for education and Student Affairs, Chairman of the Higher Committee for supervision of elections, Dr. Madiha Darwish, dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, General Supervisor of student activities, and the rapporteur of the committee, along with a group of supervising members, including: Dr. Abdul Hamid Abu Sahli, dean of the Faculty of Science, Dr. Alaa Mohammed Ahmed Attiya, dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. dwaib Hussein saber, dean of the Faculty of Law (member Dr. Haitham Ibrahim, Director General of the General Administration of student welfare, student Ahmed Mohammed Hussein faculty of Medicine-fifth division, and student Rania Hassan Shehata Ahmed Faculty of Pharmacy-Fifth Division.

The conditions for candidacy for membership of student union committees included: the candidate must have Egyptian citizenship, be a well-known student, besides being a freshman in his study group for students of the actual system, the full-year system, as well as be a freshman, and he has not failed in more than two of the courses he registered last year for students of the credit hours system, and he must also have documented student activity at the University, College, or institute in the field of the nominated committee, except for students of the first academic year, and not have previously he has been previously sentenced to a criminal penalty, or to a penalty that restricts freedom in a crime that violates honor, or honesty, unless he has been rehabilitated, in addition to not belonging to any organization, entity, or terrorist group established contrary to the law.

  For his part, Dr. Ahmed Abdul Mawla, vice president of the University for education and Student Affairs, pointed out that the election campaign is scheduled to begin on November 21, and the first round elections will be held in colleges, counting, and announcing the results on November 24, while the run-off round will be held on November 25, then the elections of committee secretaries and their assistants at the college level will be held on November 26, and the elections of the president of the Union and his deputy at the college level will be held on November 27, provided that the student elections will end with the election of committee secretaries, their assistants, the president, and the deputy president of the University Union on November 28, 2024.
