Prof. El-Minshawy: our goal is to pay attention to international scientific publications and progress in all international classifications
Assiut University President: the two scholarships have been allocated annually and the student's tuition fees will be paid for four years
Prof. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, announced that the University Council approved at its meeting held on (759), dated October 29, 2024, to allocate (two scholarships) for the study of doctoral degrees, for outstanding students at the master's stage, in the practical faculties of the University; to encourage and motivate the university administration; for its researchers, outstanding graduate students, who have published their research in international journals listed in the database (Web of Science) the application must be submitted from tomorrow, November 26, until 5 of next December.
This decision comes within the framework of Assiut University's keenness to expand the base of scientifically distinguished researchers, enhance its research reputation, its presence in local and international research platforms and periodicals, and achieve standards and indicators of the quality of higher education, to reach a comprehensive and sustainable scientific research system that keeps pace with the developments of the times, according to a sound scientific reference.
Prof. Ahmed El-Minshawy explained: that the two Scientific Excellence Scholarships for doctoral studies have been offered and allocated annually, as the scholarship provides payment of tuition fees for the student for a maximum of four years, to pay attention to the international scientific publication and progress in all international classifications, which is considered an investment, because the university has distinguished human competencies, academic expertise, and ancient research in various educational fields, stressing that the university administration attaches importance to the advancement of the Graduate Studies sector, developing its programs, and linking it to the local and international community, which is reflected in to raise the scientific status of the university to the ranks of leading universities, attractive for study; both in the Arab world and internationally.
For his part, Dr. Jamal Badr, vice president for graduate studies and Research Affairs, said that the applicant for the scholarship is subject to several conditions, the most important of which are: the applicant must have a master's degree from one of the University's practical colleges, and he must not have been more than five years after receiving a master's degree when applying for the scholarship, as well as publishing at least one research from the master's thesis in an international journal listed in the WOS database, which has an impact coefficient and Q, and is not listed in the Emerging Source Citation Index database, in addition to providing the scholarship to a researcher who the highest grades among the applicants, and a minimum of at least five grades; according to the proposed conditions for judging the scholarship.
The conditions also include: the student undertakes to publish at least one research from the doctoral thesis in an international journal listed in the WOS database, which has an impact factor of Q2, and the student undertakes to put the scholarship code number in the form of thanks; for the Graduate Studies sector, Assiut University; on all research derived from the doctoral thesis, as well as in the thesis itself.
It is worth mentioning that the required papers are submitted, by the General Administration, to the Office of the Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, on the third floor, Ward (D), and the applicants ' papers will be examined through a committee headed by the vice president of the University for graduate studies and Research Affairs, and several faculty members, at the University.
