Assiut University participates in Iftar ceremony and the conclusion of The "her and with her" project at the Coptic Catholic Archdiocese to support women's rights and combat violence

Within the framework of promoting the values of national cohesion and supporting women's rights, Assiut University, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the University, participated in the Iftar ceremony and the conclusion of The "her and with her" project, which was held on Saturday, March 22 at the Coptic Catholic Archdiocese of Assiut, where the project came in cooperation with the MA'an Association for development and the eparchial development office, in partnership with the British Embassy in Egypt, with the aim of combating gender-based violence and supporting women within local communities in Assiut Governorate.

The project was implemented under the supervision of Bishop Daniel Lotfi, Bishop of the Coptic Catholic Diocese, Father Matous Adib, director of the diocesan development office, and Mr. Hani Fawzi, executive director of the project, who stressed the importance of joining community and institutional efforts to support women's rights and enhance their role in society.

The ceremony was attended by a number of university leaders, including Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Mawla, vice president for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Mahmoud Abdel-Alim, vice president for community service and Environmental Development, Dr. Marwa Kadwani, rapporteur of the National Council for women, Sheikh Sayed Abdel Aziz, rapporteur of the Egyptian family house, as well as a number of faculty members and administrative leaders in the governorate.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed the importance of the project in reducing the phenomenon of violence against women and promoting their rights within society, pointing to the active role of educational institutions such as schools, youth centers and NGOs in spreading awareness and renouncing gender-based violence.

For his side, Dr. Ahmed Abdul Mawla praised the efforts of the project in developing the skills of individuals and institutions, and honoring the volunteer participants who contributed to the implementation of targeted community initiatives. 

Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Alim also explained that the project included multiple activities, including community initiatives, trainings for teachers and NGOs, in addition to discussion seminars for families and youth, which contributed to raising awareness of thousands of people from various categories.

The ceremony concluded with a presentation of the activities and achievements of the project, followed by a singing ceremony and a tribute to the participants, amid an atmosphere of brotherhood and love, before the attendees gathered around the collective breakfast table
