Dr. Mansour Al-Mansi, dean of the Faculty of Fine
Arts, Assiut University, reported the arrival of the delegation of students and
faculty members who participated in the First carving Symposium held in Damietta
from Nov.18 – Dec.2, 2017. Dr. Mansi added that this is considered the first
participation of the Faculty outside the University and despite the recent
history of the faculty, their participation won a high claim, admiration, and
praise by those who were in charge of the symposium. The carving works submitted
in the symposium were all target to developing a number of squares in Ras El-Bar
in a way that suits its tourist value. The works included were based on
materials such as iron, granite, and stones.
