Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, Acting President of Assiut University, congratulated the faculty members who won funding from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), at a value of half a million pounds. The winners earned the prize for their environmental research project concerned with using green environmental analysis methods to protect water resources, which is in line with the national strategy for sustainable development, Egypt 2030 AD. The university seeks to implement this strategy by consolidating the concepts of environmental preservation and the concepts of scientific research and raising awareness of ways to obtain the maximum possible support for scientific research and putting it into practice.
Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Mawla, Acting Vice President for Education and Student Affairs and Dean of the faculty of Pharmacy, expressed his appreciation to the students of the faculty of Pharmacy who are distinguished in the field of scientific research. Moreover, he explained that the winning project includes assistant professors at the faculty of Pharmacy, Dr. Azza Hisham Mansour and Dr. Fatima Al-Zahra Mustafa in the Department of Pharmaceutical analytical chemistry, in cooperation with Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Maguid Ibrahim, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, faculty of Science; and Dr. Fatima Mohamed Abdel-Maqsoud, Assistant Professor, Department of Anatomy and Embryology, faculty of Veterinary Medicine. Finally, he wished them all future success and asked the university students to pay attention to scientific research and to seek to obtain funding for their research because of its importance in advancing scientific research, without which development cannot be achieved.
