Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, Acting President of Assiut University, emphasized the university’s strategy which aimed at discovering innovators among students and children of all ages to be future scientists. Such strategy will prepare them for future challenges, enhance their self-confidence, and build their personality in the best way. It also aims at providing the opportunity to train them in the university community, qualify them to interact with university professors, and ensure that all high-quality educational activities are available to them, which leads to develop their creative and innovative capabilities.
This came in a statement Dr. El-Minshawy made about signing a cooperation protocol between Assiut University and the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology to implement the “Little Scientists” initiative for a better future in its sixth edition within the framework of the Initiatives Program entitled Children’s University, after the success achieved by the program in its five sessions. The first program was under the auspices of Dr. Mahmoud Saqr, President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, in the presence of Dr. Magda Hashem, former Dean of the College of Early Childhood Education and head of the work team submitted and proposed by the implementing agency.
Dr. Magda Hashem explained that the Children’s University is an educational project funded by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology in cooperation with Egyptian universities to implement the “Little Scientists for a Better Future” initiative, and it is implemented through university professors in various fields and activities prepared by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology. Also, she added that the initiative is in its sixth edition and that its aim is to prepare children for a better future as they are considered the tools of change who are capable of facing various challenges and shaping the world by demonstrating advanced creative and innovative capabilities using scientific methods and promoting long-term interests related to the education process for children. Students between the ages of 6-15 years are enrolled in the program, and the national program for the Children’s University has begun in more than 33 Egyptian public and private universities.
