Assiut University Study Recommends Mother's Voice and Music for Children Undergoing Heart Bypass Surgeries

Candidate Ghada Shalaby Khalaf Mahran, Assistant Lecturer of Critical Cases Nursing, Faculty of Nursing, was granted the PhD degree after her defense of a Dissertation entitled: "The effect of the existence of the mother and listening to the Music on Children and their reactions to stress during Heart Bypass surgeries. The study concluded that calming sounds such as the mother's voice and the music during surgeries have been of positive effect. It also recommended the use of apparatuses measuring the degrees of anesthesia during surgeries performed with entire anesthetic effect. Moreover, the conclusion recommended that nursing staff receives proper training on the usage of such apparatuses during critical surgeries.
