Dr. Tarek El-Gammal, President of Assiut University, confirmed that the Department of Clinical Pathology is the main supporter of the Assiut University hospitals medical services. He added that the department is one of the strengths of the Faculty of Medicine and one of its distinguishing features among the various Egyptian universities. The department is also recognized by its leadership factors, as it has a scientific and medical background, and an honorable history of medical work, community service and scientific publishing. Moreover, it has a clear vision for the future, and a real will to change for the better in terms of infrastructure and ways of providing medical services. Thus, it becomes an advanced center not only at the local level but also at the international level. Furthermore, it has the largest unit of central blood laboratories at the level of university hospitals in various Arab countries, which had a remarkable national role during the university’s participation in the various presidential initiatives to detect the “C” virus. Also, it played a vital role in addressing Corona pandemic by using the latest medical devices that ensure the fastest and most accurate results in huge quantities.
