Prof. Dr. Tarek El-Gamal, President of Assiut University, congratulates his colleagues and sons on the distinguished and remarkable progress that has been achieved in the global ranking. Assiut University applied this year for ranking in all seventeen sustainable development goals. The President of the University also indicated that there has been remarkable progress in six of these goals at the global and national levels for 2022 compared to 2021. He also congratulated the International Ranking Office team as Assiut University ranked number 401 worldwide and in the 4th place among Egyptian universities, compared to 6th place last year.
Prof. Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, stated that this year witnessed the comprehension of some of Assiut University’s goals of its plan for international ranking. His Excellency announced the development of the international ranking of Assiut University in the field of health and medical care, as moved globally from 401-600 in 2021 to 301-400 in 2022. His Excellency's also indicated that Assiut University ranked 78th globally in the field of energy availability and clean energy, as well as a great progress by occupying the category 101-200 in the field of clean water and waste disposal. His Eminence also added the development of the world rankings in the areas of life under water and life on land, so that the university ranked in the category from 201-300 globally. Assiut University also appeared for the first time in the university rankings related to climate conservation, occupying the category from 301-400.
For this, Prof. Dr. Omar Mamdouh Shaaban, Director of the International Ranking Office (AUIRO) of the University, extends his sincere thanks to the team of the office, the information network, and the University administration in all its sectors. His also explained that this progress comes as a fulfilment of Assiut University's plan, "we deserve the best" to advance the international ranking of the university, as well as the result of the great cooperation of all faculties and their representatives in the AUIRO. His added that this ranking (THE impact), issued by the English Times magazine and concerned with the achievements of universities in the field of the United Nations sustainable development goals.
Prof. Dr. Mohamed Mostafa Hamad, Deputy Director of the AUIRO, added that this year's evaluation witnessed a remarkable development for Assiut University at the national level, by occupying the fourth place among Egyptian universities, compared to the sixth place in the last year ranking. He also announced progress to the first place in the field of life on Earth and to the third place at the level of Egyptian universities in the fields of industry and innovation, renewable and available energy, and life under water. He also announced progress in the medical field to sixth place instead of tenth at the field over Egypt last year.
Accordingly, the Assiut University International Ranking Office extends its sincere congratulations on this achievement and on Eid Al-Fitr.
