Prof. Alaa Attiyah, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Assiut University Hospitals, revealed the choice of a logo for the University Hospital, which was approved by Prof. Tarek Al-Jamal, former President of Assiut University, explaining that the logo symbolizes university hospitals in line with the visual identity of the university including medical city, colleges, institutes, units and research centers … etc. He explains that the logo is designed by Dr. Noha Al-Mufti, a lecturer in the Graphic Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Al-Menshawi, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs and supervisor of the Faculty of Fine Arts, and Prof. Mohamed Helmy, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research,
Describing the logo, Dr. Ihab Fawzi, Executive Director of University Hospitals, explained that it contains a number of symbols; the first is the sun inspired by the logo of the university, the second is the key to life as a signal of life and immortality, and the third is the eagle that was used by the ancient Egyptians as a sign of elevation, status, strength and longevity because the eagle in ancient culture is long-lived and known for the vitality and health that the hospital helps the patient to obtain, while the colors are those of the visual identity of the university, pointing out that they are symbols of all hospitals and not a specific hospital. He adds, logos will soon be chosen for each of the 12 university teaching hospitals located in the university's medical city and serving millions of patients in Upper Egypt.
