Assiut University witnessed the second meeting of its Committee for Empowerment and Equal Opportunities for Women and Persons with Disabilities, managed by the Quality and Excellence Administration, under the patronage of Prof. Maha Ghanem, the Acting President of Assiut University, and Mr. Shoukat Saber, the University's Secretary-General, in the presence of Mr. Mustafa Hassan, the Assistant University Secretary-General and Vice-Chairman of the Quality and Excellence Board of Directors, Mr. Wael Mohamed, the Assistant University Secretary-General, Mr. Mohamed Abbas, the Director of Quality and Excellence Administration and representative of the Higher Administration for Quality and Excellence, Mr. Sayed Hassan Mohamed, the Head of the Equal Opportunities Unit, and Mr. Ahmed Salah, the General Director of the General Administration for Administrative Affairs, and a group of committee members. Mr. Mustafa Hassan emphasized the university administration's keenness to apply Egypt's vision for sustainable development 2030, and to achieve its goals in its various sectors, including its focus on empowering women and qualifying them for leadership positions, as well as empowering persons with disabilities and addressing the problems they face to achieve equal opportunities. Mr. Mohamed Abbas explained that the meeting discussed mechanisms for implementing capacity-building programs related to equal opportunities and women's empowerment, mechanisms for implementing job development programs to achieve gender justice and equal opportunities, mechanisms for implementing programs and courses to promote a culture of gender equality and equal opportunities, and proposals for well-being programs for women and persons with disabilities.
