(38) Assiut University scientists in Stanford University's ranking of the best 2% of the world's scientists for 2024

Prof. El-Minshawy; We are proud of our internationally distinguished scientists in various fields and support their efforts to serve the research system

Prof. Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, announced the inclusion of (38) of its professors, in the list of the best 2% of the most influential scientists in the world; about the totality of their scientific production, and reference citations with their scientific research, in various disciplines.

The President of Assiut University pointed out that the emergence of (38) scientists from the university on the Stanford list reflects the confidence of the international scientific and research circles in our scientists in all disciplines, and is also an affirmation of the quality of the research outputs of the university employees, and the increase in the number and impact of research published in prestigious scientific journals listed in international databases, as a result of the support provided by the university for researchers; to achieve the required quality of scientific research outputs.

Prof. Ahmed El-Minshawy explained that the list of scientists listed in the 2024 Stanford classification from Assiut University; included (16) faculty members; Faculty of the Faculty of Science; namely: Dr. Rashad Abdul Sattar Abdul Baki, Dr. Ibrahim Hassaneen, Dr. Mohammed Hammad, and Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Mansour; Professors in the Department of Mathematics, Dr. Ahmed Seddiqi, Dr. Salah Ahmed Makhlouf, and Dr. Mohammed Rashad; Professors in the Department of Physics, Dr. Ahmed Fawzi, Dr. Abu Al-Hajaj Hermas, Dr. Kamal Ibrahim Ali, Dr. Rifaat Hassan El-Moshi, Dr. Waleed Al-Sayed, Dr. Baha Mohammed Abu Zeid, Dr. Hani Nasser Abdulhamid; Professors in the Department of Chemistry, Dr. Alaa Eldeen Sayed Hamed, professor at department of zoology and insects, professor Mona Dawod, department of planetary.

This is in addition to; (7) from the faculty members of the Faculty of Engineering; namely: Dr. Mazen Abdulsalam, and Dr. Mohammed Abu Zahad; the two professors in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Dr. Shehata Al-Dabaa Abdul Rahim, Professor of the Department of Civil Engineering, Dr. Hamdi Ali Abu Hassan, Professor in the Department of Mechanical Power Engineering, Dr. Amr Sayed Hassan, Professor in the Department of Architecture, Dr. Mohammed Zaki Rashid, Professor of the Department of Mining and Metallurgy Engineering, and Dr. Ahmed Hamza, Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

The list also included (6) faculty members from the Faculty of Medicine; namely: Dr. Mohammed Mahmoud Fathallah, Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Sharifa Hamed, and Dr. Iman Khader; two professors in the Department of Neurology and Psychiatric Diseases, Dr. Hilal Fouad Hatta, Professor in the Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology, Dr. Mahmoud Rizk Abdul Wahid, Professor in the Department of Pathology, and Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Mukhtar, Professor in the Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology.

The list also included; (5) faculty members; Faculty of Pharmacy; namely: Dr. Tariq Abu Al-Fadl, Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Dr. Mohammed Mahmoud Abdullatif Professor in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy, Dr. Baha Jamal Youssef, Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry, Dr. Hisham Mohammed Tawfiq, Professor in the Department of Industrial Pharmacy, and Dr. Mohammed Mahmoud Al-Kaik, Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Analytical Chemistry.

The list included (3) faculty members at the Faculty of Agriculture; namely: Dr. Mamdouh Abdul Hafeez Issa, Professor in the Department of Land and Water, Dr. Ahmed Salah Musa, Professor in the Department of Food Science and Technology, and Dr. Ahmed Atef Salam, Professor in the Department of Genetics.

The list also included; Dr. Doaa Mukhtar, Professor in the Department of Cell and Tissues at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University.

It is worth mentioning that Stanford University is based on the Scopus database of the scientific publisher Elsevier; to extract various indicators from the list, and it depends on the number of citations of research published by other authors (H index), the HM co-authorship index, and citations for research papers on various authoring topics, and a composite index (C-Score). The list includes more than (210 thousand) scientists from (167) countries around the world, and scientists are classified in (22) scientific fields.
