Prof. El-Minshawy praises the success of a medical team at the heart Hospital at Assiut University; in removing a large heart tumor for a lady

A medical team at Heart Hospital at Assiut University succeeded in saving the life of a patient from Minya Governorate, aged 56 years, who was suffering from a heart tumor. This comes in continuation of the successes and the distinguished medical profession achieved by the University Heart Hospital in Assiut, and to confirmation of its leadership; in performing fine surgical operations, under the supervision of Dr. Alaa Attia, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals, Dr. Essam Abdullah, Director of the University Heart Hospital, and Dr. Mohammed Ayad, Head of the Department of Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery.

Prof. Ahmed El-Minshawy praised the success of the medical team in performing this surgery for the patient, stressing the excellence of the medical staff in Assiut University hospitals, and their vital role in providing a medical service at a high level of professionalism, skill, and the use of the latest methods, diagnostic and therapeutic techniques; to serve patients who are reluctant to it.

The Heart Hospital at Assiut University had received the patient, who was suffering from shortness of breath and heaviness in the chest 5 years ago, and a debate was conducted for the patient, by Dr. Ali Tohami, a cardiologist, after the signing of the medical examination and the radiology procedure; It was found that there was a large tumor in the left atrium of the heart, and immediately; The procedures were taken for an open heart operation; to remove the tumor from inside the heart, and then; The patient was transferred to intensive care, to stabilize her condition after that, and she leaves the hospital only four days after the surgery.

The medical team that performed the surgery included Dr. Mohamed Farouk, a lecturer of cardiac and thoracic surgery, Dr. Omar Arafat, an assistant lecturer of cardiac and thoracic surgery, Dr. Mohammed Imad, an assistant teacher of cardiac and thoracic surgery, Dr. Mustafa Louay, Dr. Ahmed Wahba, deputy cardiac and doctors, and Dr. Ahmed Mandour, consultant in anesthesia and intensive care. The medical team thanked the nursing staff ; Mr. Ahmed Ashraf, and Mr. Islam Saber.
