President of Assiut University: the university is keen to provide all quality standards and sustainability of accreditation
Prof. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, held today, Wednesday 8 January, a meeting with the Higher Committee to prepare the University's annual report for the academic year 2022/2023 submitted to the National Authority for quality assurance of education and accreditation; to discuss the items of the report, discuss some issues related to university education, and ways to develop the educational process.
At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Ahmed El-Minshawy explained the standards for ensuring the quality of the educational process, which were set by the National Authority for quality assurance of education, where the authority, whether at the level of the institution or educational programs, set a set of standards to improve the level of performance in colleges, institutes and study programs.
During the meeting, Prof. El-Minshawy stressed the University's keenness to implement the national strategy for higher education and Egypt's Vision 2030, take serious and accomplished steps towards progress and development, provide all quality standards, sustain accreditation, spread the culture of accreditation at the university, raise the level of university performance, develop study programs, develop human resources, achieve strategic management, hold seminars, scientific conferences and training courses that achieve development and excellence of university education and its outputs, as well as support the university sectors in developing their own internal quality assurance systems.
In this context, the president of the University praised the efforts exerted by those working in all sectors of the university to improve the quality of education, contribute to achieving continuous qualitative development to put Assiut University in an advanced position at the national, regional and international levels, and gain the confidence of society in its graduates based on internationally recognized evaluation mechanisms.
The meeting discussed the items of the annual report of the University for the academic year 2022/2023 to be submitted to the National Authority for quality assurance of education and accreditation, the items included; the vision of the university, its mission, objectives, achievements, and activities of the university, and the report of its performance in several aspects, including; (strategic planning - leadership and governance - quality management - faculty members - administrative apparatus - financial and material resources - academic standards and programs - teaching and learning - students and graduates - scientific research and scientific activities - graduate studies - community participation and environmental development).
The meeting was attended by the members of the committee, namely; Dr. Ahmed Abdul Mawla, vice president of the University for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Mahmoud Abdul Alim, vice president of the University for community service and Environmental Development, Dr. Jamal Badr, vice president of the University for graduate studies and research, professor Shawkat saber, secretary general of the University, Dr. Omar Sayed Khalil, Director of the University Education Development Center, Dr. Hassan al-Hawari, advisor to the president of the University for university information systems and decision support, Dr. Ibrahim Ismail, director of the quality assurance and accreditation center, and Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Nasser, director of the project management unit.
