As part of the "New Beginning of Human Building" initiative:A student delegation from Assiut University participates in the awareness development lectures organized by the Ministry of Justice

Assiut University continues its active participation in the President of the Republic's initiative for human development "A New Beginning; to Build the Human Being", under the supervision of Prof . Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, where a student delegation from the university, consisting of (10) male and female students, participated in a lecture entitled "Awareness of Cybercrime and Cyber Attacks", at the Judicial Studies Center, at the Assiut Courts Complex, as part of the activities of the awareness-raising lectures, organized by the Ministry of Justice.

Prof. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed the interest of Assiut University in participating in the presidential initiative "A New Beginning to Build the Human Being"; to build awareness, prepare new generations that have the values of belonging, loyalty to the Egyptian state, preserve the capabilities of the homeland, and participate effectively in the comprehensive development process. To this end, the university is keen on coordination and cooperation with the ministries and the participating authorities in the initiative; to achieve the desired goals of the initiative.

Student participation comes under the supervision of Prof. Ahmed Abdel Mawla, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Madiha Darwish, General Supervisor of Student Activities, and Dr. Haitham Ibrahim, Director General of the General Directorate of Student Welfare, and the organization of: Dr. Mamdouh Othman, Professor Dalia Shobek, and Mr. Ahmed Jamal Abdul Halim, Department of Student Unions, in the General Directorate of Student Welfare at the University.

The lecture was attended by: Counselor Ramadan Mohammed Abdullah, President of the South Assiut Court of First Instance, Counselor Khaled Ismail, Director of the Execution of Sentences Department, at the South Assiut Primary Court, Dr. Hossam Mohammed Efendi, Head of the Criminal Law Department, Faculty of Law, Assiut University, Sheikh Nasser Al-Azaizi, Director of the Follow-up Department, in the Directorate of Awqaf, and the Pastor Philopater Michel Kain at the Cathedral of the Virgin Mary, with the new Moalmeen in Assiut.

The lecture dealt with the introduction of cybercrimes, cyber-attacks, contemporary challenges in this field, images of multiple crimes, and factors that contribute to their spread, such as technological development, and ease of access to information. It also highlighted the characteristics of the cybercriminal, his criminal methods of targeting victims, and the serious risks that threaten individuals through them, including financial fraud, identity theft, electronic extortion, and privacy violation, as well as the impact of electronic rumors on the stability and security of society, and on the economic center of the country, concerning the role of social media platforms in promoting these criminal phenomena.

The lecture also reviewed the features of criminal policy in the face of cybercrimes, including prevention, criminalization, and punishment strategies, in addition to reform and correction, as well as the risks associated with artificial intelligence, such as deep forgery. Law No. 175 of 2018 on combating information technology crimes, and its effective role in addressing these crimes, and providing a legal framework to protect individuals and society was also highlighted.
