What the department of Microbiology and Immunology do?
- Preparing doctors who are capable of laboratory analysis of all infectious diseases (bacterial - virological - fungal) and to combat hospital infections to ensure the provision of medical services that guarantee patient safety and prevent pollution.
- Deepening the understanding of health problems associated with infectious diseases.
- Teaching theoretical lectures to students of the first, second and third grads in human medicine
- Teaching practical lessons to students of these teams.
Conducting periodic, practical and theoretical exams for students.
- Correction, grading and delivery of results.
- Teaching graduate students for master's and doctorate degrees, both for medical medicine students.
- Teaching the first year students of the faculty of Nursing and Nursing Institute as well as examining them
- Teaching students of the Health Institute.
- Conducting scientific research in the field of infection control, infectious diseases and immunology and publishing research in international scientific journals with the aim of raising the local and international ranking of the university.
Special projects in the department of Microbiology and Immunology
- Laboratories dedicated to teaching practical lessons for the students mentioned above.
- The Medical Molecular Biology Laboratory was established with funding from the Science and Technology Development Fund (STDF) with the participation of faculty members from the Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology and the laboratory conducts scientific research in the field of molecular biology.
- The Medical Research Center funded by the Excellence Support Department of the Education Development Projects Unit (establishment of the Research Excellence Center) and financing from the Science and Technology Development Fund (establishment of a partial virus lab).
- The researchers also provide technical assistance to researchers in the field of molecular biology, especially in the field of DNA sequencing and blasting.
