Research Abstract

A CASE REPORT OF UNILATERAL TRANSIENT HORNERS SYNDROME, ASSOCIATED WITH IPSILATERAL INADVERTENT BRACHIAL PLEXUS BLOCK COMPLICATING EPIDURAL ANALGESIA PERFORMED TO FACILITATE PHYSIOTHERAPY IN A FEMALE CHILD. SUCH COMPLICATION IS UNPREDICTABLE, ALTHOUGH IT IS MORE FREQUENTLY ASSOCIATED WITH EPIDURAL ANAESTHESIA AMONG OBSTETRIC CASES. IT MAY INDICATE HIGH SYMPATHETIC BLOCKADE, AND PAEDIATRIC PATIENTS SHOULD BE MONITORED CLOSELY FOR AUTONOMIC COMPLICATIONS RELATED TO EPIDURAL ANALGESIA.
