Documents required for postgraduates studies:

1. A temporary bachelor’s degree certificate (for diploma or master’s applicants)
2. A temporary master’s degree certificate (for Ph.D applicants)
3. A statement of the student’s grades during the academic years
4. Birth certificate or an official copy thereof
5. A copy of the ID (national number).
6. 4 personal pictures
7. And approval from the work place.
8. The approval of the workplace for sabbatical leave for those who work outside Assiut. 

Diploma

It aims at preparing the student scientifically and practically in the various disciplines in nursing.

Enrollment requirements:

1. To obtain a bachelor's degree in nursing
2. The applicant must have practiced the nursing profession for a period of no less than two years after the training year in a public or private hospital recognized by universities
3. The reports of her/his work performance should be no less than excellent for two consecutive years.
4. The attendance rate should not be less than 75% in the academic courses
5. To have a sabbatical year, at least, for workers outside the city of Assiut
6. Enrollment takes place in September and study begins in October
7. The period of study is a whole year and the student may not remain enrolled for more than two years

Master’s degree

• The Master's degree aims to prepare graduates scientifically and practically in different disciplines according to the nature of their work after graduation
• Enrollment requirements:
• The student should have a bachelor’s degree in nursing with general grade of “good” at least and the same grade in the specialized subject from one of the universities of the Arab Republic of Egypt or an equivalent degree from a recognized faculty or scientific institute.
• The applicant must finish their training year.
• The student must have worked in the specialty department for at least two years in the specialty department in a public hospital or a scientific institute recognized by the university.
• To have a sabbatical leave for studying of a period of at least one year for those who work outside Assiut.

Conditions for obtaining a master's degree

• Attending courses and practical training with a percentage of not less than 75%
• The student must conduct a scientific research on a topic approved by the Council for Graduate Studies and Research based on the proposal of the Department Council and the approval of the Faculty Council
• The thesis registration is after the student’s success in the first part
• The student should present the results of the research through a letter accepted by the jury after discussion therein
• The thesis may not be submitted until at least one year has passed

Ph.D

The Ph.D program aims to prepare graduates scientifically and practically at a high level according to the nature of their work after graduation in order to stimulate scientific research to advance nursing sciences

 Enrollment requirements:

• The applicant must hold a master’s degree in a major or a related subject with a general grade of “good”, at least, from one of the Egyptian universities or an equivalent academic degree recognized by the university.
• The applicant must carry out innovative research on a subject approved by the Faculty Council for a period of at least two years from the date of approval to register the subject
• The applicant must submit a comprehensive statement (protocol) on the research that they intend to undertake, indicating the names and approval of the supervisors.
• The applicant should present the research results in a letter accepted by the jury after discussion therein. The thesis must be discussed at least six months before the exam.
• The applicant should pass the general and specific nursing science exam and basic sciences related to the specialty branch.
• The applicant should study at the faculty for at least one year for those working outside Assiut.
• Enrollment takes place during the school year.
• The thesis may only be submitted after at least two years.

Required documents for master’s and Ph.D registration:

Master’s:

• A certificate of a university degree - a certificate from the Supreme Council of Universities in Cairo stating the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in case of private or foreign university.
• A grade certificate of all the academic years.
• An approval letter of the cultural advisor to the embassy of the country from which the student is coming, with the clarification of the funding entity (there on expense - a government mission).
• Three (3) personal photos
• Three (3) full copies of the valid passport.

 Ph.D

• A certificate of a university degree - a certificate from the Supreme Council of Universities in Cairo stating the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in case of private or foreign university.
• A grade certificate of all the academic years.
• A master's degree certificate.
• A certificate from the Supreme Council of Universities in Cairo stating the equivalent of a master’s degree (if it’s from a foreign university)
• An approval letter of the cultural advisor to the embassy of the country from which the student is coming, with the clarification of the funding entity (there on expense - a government mission).
• Three (3) personal photos
• Three (3) full copies of the valid passport.

  Application for international students: -

• Expatriate students wishing to enroll in postgraduate studies must submit their applications to the university through Prof. Adviser to the President of the University for Arab Universities Affairs to obtain initial approval for enrollment in postgraduate studies with specifying the academic degree they want to join with attaching their documents (the qualifications obtained)
• The documents are initially approved and accredited by the Director General of Postgraduate Studies and Research at the University, then Prof. Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research.
•  
• The student shall equate the academic degrees obtained from the Supreme Council of Universities if he obtained these degrees from private or foreign universities for applicants to a master’s or diploma degree. As for students applying for a Ph.D. degree, a master's degree obtained from non-Egyptian universities is equivalent. As well as diplomas obtained from outside Egypt.
   
• The student fills in the data form, then approves it from the Prof. Dean of the faculty and seals it with the faculty seal, then it is approved by Prof. President of the University and sealed with the seal of the General Administration for Postgraduate Studies and Research and the opinion of the faculty and the university is explained in it and sent to the General Administration to accept and grant foreign students in Cairo.
• After the approval of the competent authorities of the Ministry of Higher Education, students are formally registered and fill out the registration form (1) and it is approved by the Department Board, then by the Faculty Board, and then by Professor Dr. / Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research (on behalf of the Council of Graduate Studies and Research)
• After that, the student is considered enrolled in postgraduate studies at the university
• The University Council decided in its session held on 5/27/2007 to agree to exclude foreign students from the admission requirement stipulated in the regulation and to allow male students to be accepted for master's degrees, as the regulation stipulates female admission only

Grievance procedures

• The student submit a request to Prof. Dean of the College that includes the materials whose results he wants to appeal
• The application is transferred to the Vice Dean for Postgraduate Affairs
• The Vice Dean of the faculty forms a committee to view the brochure consisting of
  1. The Dean of the Faculty.
  2. Vice Dean for Graduate Studies at the Faculty.
  3. Professor of the subject.
  4. Control Head.

• The members of the committee and the student shall be notified of the appropriate date.
• The student should pay fees.
• The members of the committee should attend the perusal of the brochure and to prepare a signed report by the members. The correction is implemented according to the results of the report.
