Dr. Ahmed El-Menshawy received the President of Assiut University; Today, Wednesday, May 15th; The Higher Education Development Project Management Unit team at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Which includes: Dr. Muhammad Abdel-Aziz Al-Shazly, Director of the Quality Support and Qualification for Accreditation Department, and Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Wahab, Expert of the Quality Support and Qualification for Accreditation Department; This coincided with their visit to the university to begin delivering and receiving the project to support and qualify educational programs for international accreditation (SQEPIA) at the College of Nursing, and to follow up on the achievements of the support and qualification project. Qualifying educational programs in higher education institutions (SQEPIA) in the College of Engineering, and following up on the achievements of the project to support and develop educational effectiveness (SDEE) in the College of Social Service.

This came in the presence of; Dr. Samah Abdullah, Dean of the College of Nursing, Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Nasser, Director of the University’s Project Management Unit, and Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim Ismail, Supervisor of the Quality Assurance and Qualification Center for Accreditation at the University.

At the beginning of the meeting; Dr. Ahmed Al-Minshawy welcomed the team of the Higher Education Development Projects Management Unit; Appreciating the efforts of the unit in providing and improving the quality of the educational system in public universities. In line with global systems, and improving the competitiveness of higher education systems and outcomes, through: Introducing projects to support and qualify academic programs in colleges; To obtain international accreditation From internationally recognized bodies, and meeting international accreditation standards, in accordance with the requirements of contracting international bodies.

Dr. Samah Abdullah indicated that the college had won the project to support and qualify educational programs for international accreditation (SQEPIA) with a budget amounting to (3 million pounds) from the Project Management Unit of the Ministry of Higher Education, and (1 million pounds) from the university. The project outputs were: The college obtained international program accreditation from the German Authority for International Program Accreditation (AHPGS). After meeting the academic standards for quality and accreditation requirements, she sincerely thanked the university administration for its unlimited support for the college, stressing that the college administration is continuing its ambitious plan, aimed at improving the quality of the educational process, the level of graduates, and distinguished educational programs. Keeping pace with the labor market, ensuring development, and keeping pace with developments in a way that meets the future aspirations of the university and society.

For his part; Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Nasser explained: The program of the visit of the Higher Education Development Project Management Unit team includes: Follow up and provide technical, material, and logistical support to the College of Engineering, within projects to support and rehabilitate educational programs in higher education institutions (SQEPIA), as well as to the College of Social Work, within projects to support and develop educational effectiveness (SDEE); This is to determine what has been accomplished in the executive plan for the activities of the projects they obtained, review the accreditation standards, provide the necessary technical support, and follow up on the colleges’ preparation for self-study to be submitted to international accrediting bodies.
