The Faculty of Nursing at Assiut University organized a "Day of Joy for Children with Cancer" at the South Egypt Cancer Institute, under the patronage of Professor Dr. Ahmed El-Menshawy, President of Assiut University,
Professor Dr. Fatima Rushdi Mohamed, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Professor Dr. Mohamed Abu El-Magd Salem, Dean of the South Egypt Cancer Institute, Professor Dr. Nahed Shawkat Abu El-Magd, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Nursing for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Professor Dr. Amr Farouk Murad, Vice Dean of the Institute for Community Service and Environmental Development, organized a "Day of Joy" for children with cancer in the pediatric department of the South Egypt Cancer Institute. The activities of the "Day of Joy" included a meeting between the Deputy Director of the Institute, Professor Dr. Alaa Ali, and Professor Dr. Khaled Fathi, Head of the Pediatric Department at the Institute, along with a group of faculty members from the Faculty of Nursing, Assiut University, and Professor Dr. Nahed Shawkat Abu El-Magd, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development. Professor Dr. Marzouqa Abdel Aziz, Professor of Pediatric Nursing, Professor Dr. Naglaa El-Rashidi, Assistant Professor of Critical Care and Emergency Nursing, and Dr. Aya Mostafa, Lecturer of Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing, visited the department with students from the Environmental Ambassadors group. They offered face painting for the children, distributed masks, sang songs, played games and riddles, gave gifts and toys, and provided health education.
The visit included a presentation on nutrition for cancer patients and offered moral support to their families.
