Prof. Dr. Samah Mohamed Abdullah, Dean of the College, inaugurates the activities of the third scientific day of the Department of Pediatric Nursing, Faculty of Nursing - Assiut University

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. / Ahmed Mohamed El-Minshawi, President of the University and Prof. Dr. / Mahmoud Ahmed Mahmoud Abdel-Aleem, Vice President of the University for Environmental Affairs and Community Development Committee, and in the presence of the deputies of the college, heads of departments, faculty members and their assistants from the various scientific departments, and Prof. Eman Sayed Ahmed, Head of the Pediatrics Nursing Department, and Prof. Awatif Al-Awatif. Sayed Ahmed, Professor of Pediatrics, Professor Dr. Hana Abdel Latif, Professor of Pediatrics, Professor Osama Mahmoud El-Asher, Professor of Pediatrics, Professor Eman Mohamed Kamal, Professor of Dermatology and Venereology at the College of Medicine, and Dr. Sarah Hamdi Al-Talawi, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Arts

The activities of the third scientific day of the Pediatric Nursing Department were titled"Child Health in the Era of Sustainable Development"

The main themes of the scientific day are:

1. Children and sustainable development.

2. Child nutrition and sustainable development.

3. Children's behavior and its impact on the environment and health.

4. Children's health risks and their prevention in the light of sustainable development.

The results and recommendations of the scientific day were as follows:

1. The importance of feeding the child during a thousand days from the first day of the mother’s pregnancy due to its impact on the children’s mental development as well as their linguistic output and mental skill.

2. Paying attention to the health of women and girls from adolescence through healthy balanced nutrition and avoiding obesity and anemia for mothers and children.

3. The occurrence of diabetes in children can be predicted, but it cannot be prevented, and thus work to prevent the occurrence of complications associated with diabetes by adhering to proper treatment, healthy food and exercise.

4. The multiplicity of causes of skin rashes in children, including bacterial, viral or fungal infection. Therefore, no treatment should be given except after consulting a doctor to avoid increasing the severity of the condition.

5 . Promoting positive behaviors towards the environment and how to use environmental resources.

6. The goals of sustainable development must be transformed from mere theoretical ideas into programs that are presented on the ground through constant awareness and the solidarity of all institutions and individuals each in turn.

7. Implementing the rights of the child through the goals of sustainable development.
