At the postgraduate level, the department offers a master's degree in pharmacognosy program with three advanced specialist courses and another PhD program in pharmacognosy that includes two specialized courses in some fine research aspects of pharmacognosy. The aim of these programs is to supply the country with distinguished pharmacists who are interested in pharmacognosy and to contribute to the application of scientific and research methods in the study and exploitation of medicinal plants and natural products available in the local environment.
